Taeyong's 2026 in full: 'WYLD' debut album, 340K sales, Asia tour, and an 'I love my job' update

Taeyong (이태용, 30) dropped a photo on the 12th—slumped over a desk in what looks like an office—with the caption "I love my job." A low-key check-in after one of the busiest stretches of his solo career.
He released his first full-length album, WYLD, on May 18. Ten tracks. First-week sales hit approximately 340,000 copies. The title track cycled through all four major music show stages: Mnet M Countdown, KBS2 Music Bank, MBC Show! Music Core, and SBS Inkigayo. Seoul Jazz Festival 2026 got added to the live schedule too.
The album came after discharge. Taeyong served in the Navy Naval Military Band Honor Guard Battalion's public relations division as a cultural public relations soldier from April 15, 2024 to December 14, 2025, leaving with the rank of sergeant. He came back swinging. Before WYLD even dropped, he launched his first solo concert brand, TY TRACK – REMASTERED, in January at Seoul Olympic Park. Then took it across Asia—Jakarta, Yokohama, Macau, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur.
His solo discography now runs from mini album SHALALA (2023) to TAP (2024) to this year's full-length. The 2024 theatrical release TAEYONG: TY TRACK IN CINEMAS sits in between. He first appeared on a record in 2016 with NCT U's digital single 일곱 번째 감각 (The 7th Sense).
