NCT 127's Taeyong preps 'Wacka Wak' stage on Street World Fighter while dropping debut-to-now career recap
Taeyong is working with choreographers on a 'Wacka Wak' stage for Street World Fighter, weeks after dropping his first full-length album 'WYLD'.
From NCT U to his first full-length album
Taeyong leads NCT 127 as center, main rapper, and main dancer. Since 2016, SM Entertainment has kept him moving. His first stage came that year with NCT U's digital single The 7th Sense (일곱 번째 감각). NCT 127's debut mini-album NCT #127 followed the same year.
2019 brought SuperM and the group's first mini-album SuperM. Solo releases came after: SHALALA in 2023, then TAP in 2024. A concert film, TAEYONG: TY TRACK IN CINEMAS, premiered September 25, 2024. This year he released WYLD, his first full-length album.
'Wacka Wak' and the choreographer collab
Taeyong is now preparing a live stage for Wacka Wak on the variety program Street World Fighter: Director's War. He's working directly with choreographers on the performance. It's his next public moment in a packed 2026.
Outside music, Taeyong has been everywhere on TV. Fixed cast on Food Diary (식량일기). An appearance on Happy Together in 2018. Fight judge on Street Woman Fighter in 2021. He narrated the KBS documentary Codename 1950 - Smooth Sailing, which aired March 29, 2025. He also funds the Taeyong Scholarship for students at Dae-ae Multicultural School.
Night market, goldfish, no stress
On the 11th, Taeyong posted to Instagram in a beanie and headset, peering at goldfish in vinyl bag tanks at a night market. His caption: "감튀 야오필" — short, casual, unbothered. The new stage is coming; apparently he's fine with it.
