Young K on the '멋진 신세계' OST, his 'YOUNGEST' album, and a 3-day Incheon solo concert

DAY6's Young K released his second full-length album YOUNGEST on July 27. He'll play three consecutive nights at Incheon Inspire Arena from August 14 to 16.

He also contributed an OST to the SBS drama 멋진 신세계. The cast includes actors Heo Namjun and Kim Dohun—both friends from the variety show 우리 마을 똥강아지. The three are close enough to have a group chat named "삼합회" after a shared stingray samhap meal.

"Singing an OST is so enjoyable because from debut, DAY6 had to come out with only our music," Young K said. "It's not common to have the opportunity to sing songs written by other people, so I really like OSTs themselves."

Performing music written by friends felt like "such an honor." Watching those friends' work on screen while his own voice played over the romantic scenes was another story. (His words: watching a friend's business while your voice soundtracks the sweet moments is a specific kind of awkward.)

On Heo Namjun's rising profile, Young K was candid: "He's on a path to success. So definitely the frequency of contact has decreased, and callbacks are delayed."

The concerts run August 14, 15, and 16.
