Ha Ji-won takes her first trot lesson from Young Taak in Chuseok YouTube special

Ha Ji-won sat down with trot singer Young Taak on September 24 for a Chuseok special on her YouTube channel 26학번 지원이요, getting her first-ever trot vocal lesson.

"A voice that makes money"

Ha Ji-won had never sung trot before. She watches trot music broadcasts regularly because her mother is a Young Taak fan. Young Taak's path to trot stardom wound through OST work, group activities, and guide vocals and chorus work for artists including Park Hyo-shin and Davichi.

When evaluating Ha Ji-won's voice, Young Taak was direct. "Your vocal cords are clean," he said. "The voice you show in acting is charming — aren't you a top actress in Korea?" She lit up. "Voice is very important for actors, and hearing praise makes me excited."

First lesson for Niga Wae Geogi Seo Nawa

Ha Ji-won chose Young Taak's 니가 왜 거기서 나와 (Why Are You There) — a track she'd already said she loves. Young Taak wasn't expecting it.

"This is the first time I'm teaching this song since it came out. I've sung it so much, but I've never given a lesson like this, so I'm flustered."

Fans would be seeing this side of him for the first time too. The lesson included a dance segment. Young Taak watched Ha Ji-won move and reacted with a baffled "What's strange about it?" (뭐가 이상한데?).
