IU Sends Food Truck to Ex-Co-Star Byeon Woo-seok's Set After Lee Jong-suk Breakup

IU sent a food truck to the filming set of Byeon Woo-seok's upcoming Netflix drama. The vendor called it the "World Star Set" — a notably generous order.

The truck arrived with a banner carrying wordplay built from Byeon Woo-seok's real name and his drama character's name, Sung Jin-woo: 변우석 우아함 레벨 석사 and 성진우 진지하게 우아함. IU signed off with "Let's level up together a bit," a nod to the drama's title, Solo Leveling (나 혼자만 레벨업).

The two previously co-starred in the MBC drama 21세기 대군부인 (aired April–May), where IU played Sung Hee-joo and Byeon Woo-seok played Lee An Daegun. The Netflix project, based on the novel of the same name, follows protagonist Sung Jin-woo's journey from the weakest hunter to saving the world. Han So-hee is expected to appear. A release date has not been set.

The gift comes roughly seven weeks after IU announced her breakup with actor Lee Jong-suk on July 10, ending a relationship that had been public since 2022. On July 21, her agency announced a temporary suspension of all entertainment activities, including concert and album release schedules. The reason: a worsening case of patulous eustachian tube — a condition where the eustachian tube stays open, causing sounds to echo loudly — and the need for rest and treatment per medical advice.

She did make one public appearance after the suspension: a presenter slot at the 5th Chungryeo Series Awards on July 31.
