Byeon Woo-seok buys Hannam The Hill unit for 13 billion won, reportedly all cash
The 'Lovely Runner' actor completed ownership transfer on the 2nd after paying the final installment on a 235㎡ unit at Seoul's most-watched luxury complex.
13 billion won, no mortgage
Byeon Woo-seok bought a unit at Hannam The Hill in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul for 13 billion won. The dedicated floor area is 235 square meters. He signed in May and completed the final payment and ownership transfer on the 2nd of this month. No mortgage was registered on the property, sparking speculation the purchase was entirely in cash. His team has not commented.
Hannam The Hill is a 32-building, 600-unit luxury residential complex built in 2011 on the former site of Dankook University's Hannam-dong campus. The complex has dominated headlines this year. In April, musical actor Ok Ju-hyun (옥주현) of Fin.K.L moved in. In July, BTS Jin sold one of the three units he held there.

Byeon Woo-seok was born in 1991. He started as a model in 2010 and moved into acting in 2016, appearing in Dear My Friends, Youth Record, and Strong Woman Do Bong-soon. His profile jumped with the 2024 tvN drama Lovely Runner (선재 업고 튀어), where he played Ryu Seon-jae. This year he returned after roughly two years with the MBC Friday-Saturday drama 21st Century Grand Lady (21세기 대군부인) — IU's first MBC drama in 18 years since her debut.
The show is set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy South Korea. IU plays Seong Hee-ju, a chaebol heiress born a commoner. Byeon plays Lee An Dae-gun, the king's son who can legally possess nothing. The premise hinges on a class-barrier romance between the two.
(IU purchased a 244㎡ unit at Eternel Cheongdam in Gangnam-gu for 13 billion won in 2021 with no loan, and paid off all debt on a 4.6 billion won Gwacheon building she bought in 2018, making that effectively a cash deal too.)
Byeon is currently filming the Netflix series Solo Leveling (나 혼자만 레벨업) and running an Asia fan meeting tour.
