K-pop's dating ban, in Lisa's own words
Lisa has confirmed she kept multiple relationships hidden throughout her career, citing the pressure of K-pop culture. "In K-pop culture, you cannot date," she said. She didn't want her dating to become a reason for BLACKPINK's popularity to decline. She dated several times during her childhood but could not reveal any of it publicly.
The disclosure ties directly to Dream, a track on her first full-length solo album Alter Ego, released last year. Lisa confirmed the song was built from her experience with a secret partner. Before putting it out, she went back to that person for consent. That detail alone is unusual.
"Fans think they have figured out who the other person is, but I do not think so," she said.
