Lee Jung-eun, Choi Soo-young, Lee Sung-jae, Jeon Sung-woo & Kang Seung-yoon cast in KBS2 weekend drama 'Hakgyo Daenyeowassseumnida'

Lee Jung-eun, Choi Soo-young, Lee Sung-jae, Jeon Sung-woo, and Kang Seung-yoon are confirmed for Hakgyo Daenyeowassseumnida (학교 다녀왔습니다), KBS2's new weekend drama slated for the first half of 2027 as the successor to Sarangi Onda.

Mother, daughter, and a late-life university bid

Lee Jung-eun leads as Yoon Ok-hee, a woman attempting university admission later in life while running a tteokbokki restaurant and managing various neighborhood affairs. Choi Soo-young plays her daughter Kang Eun-ho, a radio PD who leads with practical judgment over emotion but stands firmly behind her mother's new challenge.

Choi didn't hold back about the pairing. "I thought it was an exciting and grateful opportunity to be able to create a work together with Lee Jung-eun, whom I was a fan of," she said. Lee Jung-eun, returning to a KBS weekend drama after a gap, said she will "work hard to show a good appearance" to viewers.

The rest of the family (and a first for Lee Sung-jae)

Lee Sung-jae plays Kang Ji-chul, Yoon Ok-hee's husband and a former name in boxing whose own life shifts when his wife decides to go back to school. This marks his first KBS weekend drama. Kang Seung-yoon takes the role of Kang Jun, the couple's eldest son, who has failed at multiple businesses but pushes ahead anyway, introducing a boxing diet program at his father's gym. "I have been waiting for the time to act within a story that smells of humanity," Kang said.

Jeon Sung-woo rounds out the main cast as Han Seung-woo, a KMS broadcasting station announcer and long-time friend of Kang Eun-ho who becomes aware of his own feelings after an unexpected event. The drama centers on Yoon Ok-hee's journey through new connections and what they reveal about the meaning of family.
