Lee Sun-bin reveals high school runaway story on SBS talk show 'Geojang Hang-jun'
Lee Sun-bin recounts saving part-time wages and fleeing Cheonan for Seoul to audition—then reacts when host Jang Hang-jun admits he didn't know about her 9-year relationship with Lee Kwang-soo.
Lee Sun-bin's debut origin story, told on live TV
Lee Sun-bin is the first guest on Geojang Hang-jun, SBS's new talk variety show that premieres October 15 at 9 PM. She came with a story.
"I ran away from home in high school to debut," she told the panel. She saved money from part-time work. Left a letter for her family. Took herself from Cheonan to Seoul to audition. After multiple attempts, she landed a spot as an idol trainee at a new entertainment agency.
The show's premise: director Jang Hang-jun holds secret auditions to cast top actors in his autobiographical film, also titled Geojang Hang-jun. Kim Poong and Song Eun-i co-host alongside Jang, with Yoo Jae-myung joining Lee Sun-bin as episode one's guests. Lee Dong-won and Gam Yu-min direct. Kim Myung-jung wrote it. Contents Lab Vivo co-produces.
Nine years, and the host had no idea
Jang Hang-jun apparently had no idea Lee Sun-bin has been dating Lee Kwang-soo for nine years. His reaction landed differently than he probably intended: "Your boyfriend is Lee Kwang-soo? I didn't know that."
"Isn't that too much? We've been together for 9 years!"
She said it with visible frustration. Yoo Jae-myung, who meets Lee Kwang-soo frequently, offered a softer take: "When I see the two of them together, it's really beautiful." Kim Poong added that the couple suits each other well. Lee Sun-bin's response to both: "Thank you."
(Nine years and the director of the show didn't clock it—that's the bit.)
Geojang Hang-jun airs October 15 on SBS.
