WayV's Xiaojun drops debut solo mini-album 'Hey, Somebody'
WayV's Xiaojun dropped his first mini-album 'Hey, Somebody' on October 26—a five-track project he co-wrote and co-composed.

WayV's Xiaojun goes solo with a five-track debut
WayV member Xiaojun released his first mini-album, Hey, Somebody, on October 26 at noon. The title track music video went live simultaneously on the YouTube SMTOWN channel.
Five tracks make up the project, including Chinese and English versions of the title track. Xiaojun wrote and composed across the album, shaped its musical direction, conceived the overall story, and contributed to choreography. "I was really happy that what I imagined was actually implemented," he said.
What each track is doing
Hey, Somebody is a mid-tempo song about someone who felt like a "Nobody" discovering their true value and becoming a "Somebody." Sky High speaks to fans about how their love surrounds him. 我眼中的你 (Wave) reaches those who've lost themselves with a message: you're already wonderful enough, and you don't need to change.
The emotional arc wasn't accidental. Xiaojun wanted it to feel "not like giving someone a lesson, but rather sharing hearts together from beside them and warmly embracing them."
A promise made at debut
For Xiaojun, this release meant something deeper. "It's a process of keeping a promise I made to myself," he said. "When I debuted, I said I wanted to become a singer who could give even a small amount of strength to someone, and I wanted to practice and show that promise through this album."
The creative work itself became healing. Having his ideas accepted and turned into finished songs provided, as he put it, "great comfort and healing."
He left fans with a direct promise: "From now on, I will be your 'super hero' in your lives. I will become someone who can chase away worries and concerns and lighten your burdens, always being by your side to give you strength." (No pressure, but that's a high bar to set on day one of your solo run.)
Cheer the story
