TREASURE drops digital single 'SHOCK' 5 months after back-to-back million-seller mini albums
TREASURE releases hip-hop single 'SHOCK' on November 2, interpolating YG senior group 1TYM's 'Hot 뜨거', five months after their million-selling mini album 'NEW WAV'.

Five months, one interpolation, zero chill
TREASURE drops SHOCK, a new digital single, on November 2. Their first release since the mini 4th album NEW WAV in June. The MV teaser went up on October 31.
SHOCK is a hip-hop track built around heavy bass, sharp synth, and the addictive hook "SHOCK SHOCK." The song interpolates Hot 뜨거 by YG senior group 1TYM, layering that legacy sample under the members' own vocals. YG Entertainment's overall producer Yang Hyun-suk described the project as "giving the greatest change to TREASURE's musical direction."
What 'NEW WAV' left behind
NEW WAV and the preceding mini 3rd album Love Pulse both hit million-seller status in first-week sales—two consecutive albums. NEW WAV topped major music charts in South Korea and Japan, reached No. 1 on iTunes album charts in 13 regions worldwide, and its title track MV crossed 100 million views 11 days after release. Cumulative views across album-related content exceeded 300 million.
Between June and now, TREASURE completed a global fan concert tour across 10 cities and 22 performances. They took home 2 awards at the 2026 The Fact Music Awards. Five months is apparently enough time to do all of that and still prep a single.
What's next on the calendar
TREASURE performs at the 3rd Korea Grand Music Awards (2026 KGMA) on November 7 and 8. They're slotted for the first day.
