Kim Gun-mo returns with first new single in 10 years; Kim Soo-hyun resumes work after fake-news indictment

Kim Gun-mo releases new single 어디쯤 가고 있을까 on July 1 at 6 PM across major streaming platforms. It's his first new music in 10 years.

The last time he put out original material was 50, the 2016 album marking his 25th debut anniversary. He spent part of the lead-up to this release on the road. The '25-26 Kim Gun-mo Live Tour' ran from September last year through March this year, hitting Busan, Daegu, Suwon, Daejeon, Incheon, Changwon, and Seoul. At every stop he told the crowd he would "prepare a new album with the mindset of debuting again."

His personal life shifted in that same window. He married pianist and composer Jang Ji-yeon, 13 years his junior, in 2019, then divorced in 2022 after 2 years and 8 months.

Kim Soo-hyun is scheduled to shoot an advertisement for Philippine fashion brand Bench on July 14. This is his first confirmed public activity since the controversy surrounding false claims about him reached a legal conclusion. On June 23, Seoul Central District Prosecutors indicted YouTuber Kim Seo-ui, CEO of 가로세로연구소, on charges including violation of the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation by false facts), violation of the Special Act on Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (distribution of recordings), and violation of the Special Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes. Kim Seo-ui is accused of spreading fabricated claims between March and May last year via YouTube livestreams and press conferences. The false claims alleged that actress Kim Sae-ron had dated Kim Soo-hyun for roughly six years starting at age 15, and that debt repayment pressure from Kim Soo-hyun was the direct cause of her death. He is also accused of using generative AI to manipulate Kim Sae-ron's voice to manufacture false evidence against Kim Soo-hyun.
