Song Ga-in releases '꽃이 아니면 어떤가 (질경이)' on July 2; she's been growing the plant herself since prep began.

Song Ga-in's new single 꽃이 아니면 어떤가 (질경이) drops July 2 across online music platforms. Pre-orders opened June 15.
The track sits on a Brazilian Festival House foundation—samba house rhythm layered with trot sensibility. Her team calls it a hybrid dance genre. Thematically, it borrows from the plantain weed (질경이), a plant that roots in barren soil and survives being stepped on. The song uses that image as a message to people quietly carrying the weight of daily life.
Song Ga-in has been growing plantain from seed herself since the song's preparation period. On June 19, she posted multiple photos on her official SNS with the caption "땅을 믿고 자라나는 질경이" (plantain growing by trusting the earth). Her agency confirmed she "wanted to share the message and sincerity of the new song visually as well" and said updates on the plant's final growth will be shared after the release.
This single follows her 4th full-length album 가인;달, which she showcased at Sky Art Hall in Gangseo-gu, Seoul on February 11.
