Song Hye-kyo parts ways with UAA after 14 years ahead of Netflix series drop

Song Hye-kyo is leaving UAA after 14 years. She was the agency's first signed actress when it launched in 2012, and she's exiting just as her Netflix series 천천히 강렬하게 nears release.

The roster she leaves behind includes Kim Da-mi, Kim Dae-myung, Jang Ki-yong, Ryu Jun-yeol, and Ahn Eun-jin.

The departure dredges up a 2016 legal battle. UAA filed a criminal defamation complaint against journalist Kang Il-hong over a column published July 4, 2016 in The Fact titled "Song Hye-kyo criminal complaint 'no probable cause' — be careful even in small conduct." The case was dismissed with a finding of no probable cause. (A major Netflix project materializes, then the agency exit follows. The timing is hard to ignore.)

Elsewhere: Im Young-woong topped the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute's June 2026 Star Brand Reputation survey. BTS placed second, followed by MLB player Lee Jung-hoo in third.

Mu-myeong Jeonseol's national tour hit Seoul on June 27–28 at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, selling out all four shows. The group's TOP7 — Seong-ri, Haru, Jang Han-byeol, Hwang Yun-seong, Jeong Yeon-ho, Lee Chang-min, and I-ru-ne — continue through the second half with stops in Ulsan, Chuncheon, Daegu, Suwon, Daejeon, Goyang, Gwangju, Busan, Bucheon, Jeonju, and Cheongju.
