AEN, Starship x Amuse joint boy group, debuts August 5 with mini album 'A NEW ERA OF NOW'
Seven-member Korean-Japanese group AEN debuts August 5 with mini album *A NEW ERA OF NOW*, led by 'X to Z'.
AEN (에이엔) is a seven-member boy group formed as a joint project between Starship Entertainment and Japanese company Amuse. They drop their debut mini album A NEW ERA OF NOW on August 5.
Four Korean members, three Japanese members. The name works two ways: "a new era defining this moment" in English, "eternity" in Japanese—a direct reflection of the group's cross-cultural makeup.
Their title track is X to Z. A performance film for album cut Focus On Me already went live on AEN's official YouTube channel. The group performed the song live for the first time on June 21 at a greeting showcase in Tokyo's SGC Hall Ariake.
The showcase caught eyes across both regions. Soompi covered the formation and performance film in real time. In Japan, Daily Sports, Sports Nippon, and Sankei Sports all ran pieces on the Tokyo event. Three major Japanese sports dailies before the debut album even dropped.
AEN will operate between Korea and Japan moving forward.
