B THE HOOD's second pre-release digital single, The Baddest, arrives July 31 at 6 PM on global music platforms. The audio lyric video drops the same moment.
The five-member virtual boy group—Ieon, Jace, Purvy, Giryoo, and Ruan—released a preview on July 28 through their YouTube channel and SNS. Shot in "Set-log" format, it follows the members through ordinary moments with understated visuals. The killing part of The Baddest plays over it for the first time.
Musically, it's mid-tempo pop built on retro drum beats, funky bass lines, and addictive guitar sounds layered with ethereal pad tones and R&B sensibility. Summer easy-listening, basically.
The numbers stand out. 100,000 YouTube subscribers in 7 weeks. Over 5 million cumulative Shorts views. Not typical for a group still in pre-release.
"This preview video was planned to intuitively convey the members' casual and friendly daily lives and the hip sensibility of the new song," LEVVELS said.
