EXID's Hani to star in KBS weekend drama 'Love Is Coming' under real name Ahn Hee-yeon

EXID member Hani will appear in KBS 2TV's new weekend drama 사랑이 온다 (Love Is Coming) under her real name, Ahn Hee-yeon. A notable shift from the stage name she's used throughout her idol career.

The production dropped a flower bouquet poster on July 7 featuring Ahn Hee-yeon alongside co-lead Ha Seok-jin. She plays Han Gyu-rim, an employee at a market side dish shop. Ha Seok-jin takes the role of Kim Mu-jin, a restaurant owner-chef.

The drama follows 사랑을 처방해 드립니다 in the KBS 2TV weekend slot and premieres July 25 at 8 PM. It's described as a "family recipe" story about two people who piece together the fragments of a broken family and set the warmest table of their lives.

Director Hong Seok-gu has helmed 여왕의 집, 미녀와 순정남, and 하나뿐인 내편. Writer Lee Kyung-hee penned 함부로 애틋하게, 세상 어디에도 없는 착한 남자, and 미안하다, 사랑한다.

The production team said the bouquet poster was designed to convey "the warm happiness of two people who have endured alone and can finally laugh together" — not just an exciting moment. (The casting of a writer with Lee Kyung-hee's emotional track record against that premise is doing a lot of work here.)

The team added: "Ha Seok-jin and Ahn Hee-yeon's perfect chemistry will delicately unfold the character's narrative, so we ask for much interest."
