Moon Chae-won posts Buddhist quote four days after private wedding ceremony

Moon Chae-won married a non-celebrity man in Seoul on June 28 in a private ceremony. Only close relatives from both families attended, kept away from public view out of consideration for the groom and their families.

She posted a link on her personal account that day with no caption—just a video titled Moon Chae-won Past Life Experience. Four days later, on July 2, she reposted an image to her SNS without comment. It read: "Buddhist saying — Remember that not getting what you want can sometimes be amazing luck."

No context. No explanation. The timing said everything.

Actor Jang Hee-jin, who co-starred with Moon in the 2020 tvN drama Flower of Evil, posted a group photo from the wedding with the caption "The weather is nice." Lee Joon-gi and Kim Ji-hoon were visible in the photo.

Moon announced the marriage in April through a handwritten letter. "I'm a bit nervous about building a family, but more than that, I'm excited," she wrote. She planned to pursue "more diverse activities" going forward and opened a personal YouTube channel in May.

She debuted in 2007 with the SBS sitcom Run, Mackerel! Her filmography spans The Princess's Man, Good Doctor, Flower of Evil, and the film War of the Arrows. Earlier this year she appeared in Heartman alongside Kwon Sang-woo.
