Sunmi drops 'Forever July' digital single, performance video follows a day later

Sunmi released her new digital single Forever July on the 15th. A performance video followed on the 16th.

UK garage beats anchor the track, layered with soft instrumental textures meant to capture summer air and shifting moods. In the video, Sunmi wears a white one-piece dress and boots, works a yellow umbrella into the choreography, and dances alongside a male performer.

Around the release, she posted about her Music Bank appearance in a lemon-yellow cardigan, light blue top, and grey-teal rain boots—signing off with "lulu, clocking out" after stopping by to practice.

Forever July extends a solo catalog spanning over a decade. Sunmi debuted with Wonder Girls on the 2007 single The Wonder Begins, then went solo in 2013 with 24시간이 모자라. Her self-composed tracks Why So Lonely and 사이렌 each hit monthly No. 1 on major domestic charts and achieved a perfect all-kill on i-Chart. She has also self-produced 날라리, 보라빛 밤, 열이 올라요, and Balloon in Love.

Her discography spans three mini-albums—Full Moon, WARNING, and 6분의1—plus last year's first full-length album HEART MAID. (Quite the résumé for someone who started as a teenager in a JYP girl group.)

In 2025 she judged Singer Again and Girls Planet 999, and appeared as a special MC on SBS's My Ugly Duckling alongside appearances on Knowing Bros and Running Man.
