Yoon Jong-shin reveals first music show appearance may have tanked his own album sales

Yoon Jong-shin went on KBS 2TV's Rooftop Troublemakers (옥탑방의 문제아들) and laid out a confession nobody asked for.

He stayed off television through his first two albums. "I didn't appear on TV until my second album," he said. That wasn't entirely his call. Jang Ho-il (장호일) was among those in his circle who actively discouraged him from doing TV at all.

Jung Suk-won (정석원) disagreed. He believed Yoon Jong-shin's voice belonged on screen.

Then the real kicker: when he finally did appear on a music broadcast, sales tanked. "There is talk that the upward trend dropped sharply after the music broadcast," he said. Kim Jong-kook, sitting on the show, nodded along. "If you appeared on TV, album sales could have stopped."

The people who said no were probably right.
