ALPHA DRIVE ONE member Sang-hyeon had vocal cord polyp removal surgery on August 5, 2026. Doctors told him to avoid using his voice for roughly three weeks after the procedure.
He won't take part in any official group activities from August 5 through August 22. Wakeone said activities after that date will resume "following sufficient recovery and stability, with medical staff's opinion and the artist's condition comprehensively considered."
The timeline is tight. ALPHA DRIVE ONE drops their second mini-album Unbreakable: Boy Beast (언브레이커블 : 소년비스트) on August 24—just two days after his blackout ends. Whether he shows up for comeback promotions from day one depends on how fast he bounces back.
