Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Choi Sooyoung launched unit Hyorisoo on Aug. 31 with 'Skibidi'—and Yuri's meme reply to a malicious comment stole the show.

Girls' Generation members Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Choi Sooyoung debuted as unit group Hyorisoo on August 31, 2026, releasing the digital single Skibidi. Their first unit project in 19 years.
The title track takes its name from an internet meme. It moves from house to hip-hop, built around the message of "creating our own new path." Lowkey In Love, a retro-flavored dance-pop cut, rounds out the two-track single and carries the group's positive energy. Before the official release, Hyorisoo previewed both songs live at the 2026 Kasool Festival.
The debut landed on a personally significant day for Yuri: her 19-year exclusive contract with SM Entertainment ended on the same date, making the release a literal new beginning for her.
The day before the drop, Yuri held an "Ask Me Anything" session with fans on social media. One commenter took a shot, writing that Hyorisoo's positive reception was "not mainstream but limited to old Girls' Generation fans" and telling her to "objectify and grasp the situation quickly." Yuri's response: she screenshotted the comment, posted it, and attached exactly one image—a meme of Chu Sa-rang, daughter of Chu Sung-hoon, picking her nose as a child on KBS 2TV's Superman is Back. No caption. No argument.
Hyorisoo has moved into full music activities following the single's release.
