'Switching: Love 4' star Hong Ji-yeon denies nose revision surgery, says swelling from original op caused viewer confusion
Web designer Hong Ji-yeon confirmed one nose surgery but denied revision rumors, attributing her changing appearance on the dating show to residual swelling four months post-op.
Hong Ji-yeon, a 1998-born web designer and influencer from Tving's Switching: Love 4, addressed nose surgery rumors on her YouTube channel 지연이라면 on August 27.
"I have had nose surgery — just once," she said. She drew a line against speculation about multiple procedures. Filming happened roughly four months after the operation, when swelling hadn't resolved. The visible difference between her on-screen appearance and her current look came down to that residual swelling alone.
Recovery was rough. One week after surgery, she removed the nasal splint and found bruising and swelling far worse than anticipated. "I cried a lot, suspecting a medical accident — I even thought about filing a lawsuit," she recalled. The anxiety sent her to another clinic for a second opinion. A doctor there said her nose suited her face well and that further surgery carried risks of altering her image or causing side effects. She dropped the idea of revision surgery entirely.
Hong Ji-yeon gained wider attention on Switching: Love 4 alongside her ex-partner Kim Woo-jin. The two chose to reunite in the show's final selection and have continued their public relationship since the program ended.
