Jo Seong-hwak and Singer Again 4's Gyuri drop remake MV for "7 Promises to You"
A former YG producer and competition show vocalist remake a 2009 Tei and Kan Mi-yeon duet with a wedding-concept music video, out August 18.
Jo Seong-hwak and Gyuri dropped their digital single 너에게 약속하는 7가지 (Feat. 규리) on August 18, releasing the track and music video simultaneously across online platforms and YouTube.
The song remakes a 2009 duet of the same name originally recorded by Tei and Kan Mi-yeon. The music video adopts a wedding-season concept—fairy-tale in tone, built around a celebratory or proposal video idea.
Jo Seong-hwak spent years as a YG Entertainment producer, working with GOT7, WINNER, Wanna One, and BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung. He pivoted to singing last year with an official remake of BIGBANG's 눈물뿐인 바보.
Gyuri took the gold award and the CJ Culture Foundation award at the 33rd Yoo Jae-ha Music Competition with her original song 사막. She built her public profile through Girls on Fire and then Singer Again 4. The latter came after she recovered from lumbar and thoracic vertebrae fractures sustained in a major traffic accident while preparing for the show. She completed rehabilitation and performed on the program anyway. (That backstory alone made her one of the more talked-about contestants of the season.)
Brotherhood Entertainment, founded by the band Rocoberry, and Music Farm Entertainment co-produced the single.
