Jungkook's 'Seven' hits 1.3B plays on YouTube Music, first debut track by an Asian male artist to do so

Seven just crossed 1.3 billion plays on YouTube Music. It's the first debut track by an Asian male artist to reach that mark.

Jungkook released the song in 2023 as his solo debut. On Spotify, Seven reached 3.03 billion streams faster than any song by an Asian artist—and was the first Asian artist track to cross that number at all. His total Spotify credit count has now passed 11.3 billion streams, a first for any K-pop solo artist and the fastest any Asian artist has reached that figure. Even without a new album or single in circulation, his account pulls roughly 4.66 million daily plays on the platform.

The catalog depth is the real story. Jungkook is the first K-pop solo artist to hold five tracks above 400 million plays on YouTube Music: Seven, 3D, Standing Next to You, Dreamers, and Left and Right. Eight tracks total sit above 100 million plays on the platform. Still With You, Stay Alive, and Hate You round out that list. His YouTube Topic channel leads all K-pop solo artists with 4.29 million subscribers; its 46 videos combine for over 1.5 billion views.

On Spotify, Seven has charted on the Weekly Top Songs Global for 155 consecutive weeks—the longest run ever for an Asian solo artist track. His debut album GOLDEN has been on the Weekly Top Albums Global for 143 consecutive weeks, also a first and longest for an Asian solo artist album. Standing Next to You has crossed 1.5 billion streams alongside Seven, making Jungkook the first K-pop solo act to hold two songs at that threshold simultaneously.

He accumulated 21 million Spotify followers faster than any Asian artist on record. In 2025, he ranked first as the most-searched male K-pop idol on YouTube globally—his fifth consecutive year at the top. (Five years running is not a streak you just stumble into.)
