Kim Jae-joong returns to Music Bank for the first time in 18 years with new single 'THE WAVE'
Kim Jae-joong returned to Music Bank on Aug. 21 for the first time since 2008, performing 'Tonight' — a day after dropping his single 'THE WAVE'.
Kim Jae-joong stepped onto the Music Bank stage on August 21. Eighteen years had passed since his last appearance there as a TVXQ member.
The broadcast came one day after he released his new single THE WAVE on August 20. Tonight, the title track, made its live debut that night. The b-side Majung-gil (마중길) completed the two-track release. Both songs charted on Bugs Top 100 on release day—Tonight hit number 1, Majung-gil number 2.
Kim treated the return as more than a standard promotional appearance. "It's not just a simple broadcast appearance," he said.
The push extends to KBS Arena in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. He'll hold the solo concert 2026 KIM JAE JOONG CONCERT [THE WAVE] on August 29 and 30. Fans who skipped the Music Bank broadcast can catch the full run there.
