Kim Jong-gook launches 30th anniversary project with Roy Kim collab "Han Beonman Anaboja"

Kim Jong-gook released Han Beonman Anaboja ("한번만 안아보자") on August 14. The track kicks off a 30th debut anniversary project built around sequential digital singles from various collaborators, later compiled into one full release.

It's tagged Edition 01 : ROY KIM. Roy Kim wrote and composed the song. Kim Jong-gook posted about it: "Before the 30th anniversary ends, I finally released the song. Thank you Roy."

The structure is straightforward. Kim receives songs from multiple artists. Each single drops individually before they all get bundled into a single album. No other collaborator names have been announced yet.

Kim debuted in 1995 as a member of Turbo with the group's first studio album 280km/h Speed, then went solo with Renaissance in 2001. He is 49.

Two days before the release, on August 12, he opened an Instagram Live from a concert rehearsal—his first in ten years by his own account—and performed Byeol, Baram, Haetsal Geurigo Sarang ("별, 바람, 햇살 그리고 사랑") live with his band. He announced the August 14 release date during that broadcast.

The new song gets its first live stage at the 30th Anniversary Concert "The Originals" — Seoul Encore, running August 15 and 16 at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Seoul. The setlist includes roughly 20 minutes of Turbo medley. (Thirty years of catalog in one room is not nothing.)
