MEPC returns after 8 months with single album 'PROTECTORS'

MEPC (맵시) is back. The seven-member group released their first single album PROTECTORS on August 13, ending an eight-month break since their debut mini-album First Fragment dropped in December of last year.

Two tracks make up the new album: PROTECTORS and KEEP IT ALIVE. The sci-fi narrative from debut continues. In First Fragment, Earth was occupied by an alien force called "Alten" in the year 2865, and the girls hunted for pieces of a lost artifact named "Geumcheok." PROTECTORS flips the script—now they guard what they were once searching for.

MEPC spans five countries across its seven members: South Korea, Tunisia, Myanmar, Nepal, and India. They're the first act to debut through "Girls' Universe," an AI-based online audition and training platform run by GBK Entertainment (which has also filed a patent application for its AI training system).

GBK is rolling out an online media center for the comeback with group and member profiles, high-resolution images, and pre-approved Q&A materials in five languages: Korean, English, Arabic, French, and Burmese.

August 15 on MBC's Show! Music Core marks their comeback stage—the same program where they first appeared on terrestrial broadcast back on December 13 last year.
