Minzy returns September 28 with first solo single in nearly 5 years

Minzy (공민지) is coming back. The former 2NE1 member will release a new digital single on September 28, her first solo release since 기깔나 in December 2021.

She produced, wrote, and composed the track herself. The sound sits in soulful R&B territory. On August 25, she launched an official homepage, logo, and profile image under her agency MZ엔터테인먼트.

"I participated deeply in the entire creative process from producing to songwriting and composing," she said. "It is a very personal work for me, and I think it contains my current image as an artist as it is."

On what fans can expect: "Fresh and unique energy where they can feel my different appearance from before and how I have changed musically." She also flagged the live stage specifically, saying the song "comes alive more vividly when vocals, emotions, and energy are added on stage" and that she wants to share that moment with everyone.

Minzy debuted with 2NE1 and has built a solo career while consistently participating in songwriting, composing, and producing. Nearly five years between solo singles is a long gap—the R&B direction and full creative credit suggest she's been deliberate about what comes next.
