MONSTA X's Kihyun wraps 'BORDERLINE' promotions, attends ROAD FC 078 at Jangchung Gymnasium

Kihyun (유기현) of MONSTA X closed out promotions for his second mini-album BORDERLINE on August 19 with a final stage on SBS Inkigayo. Nine days later, he showed up at Jangchung Gymnasium for ROAD FC 078 and posted a selfie from the venue: "MONSTA X was the cutest at Jangchung Gymnasium."

MONSTA X performed at the event alongside FIFTY FIFTY.

BORDERLINE arrived on the 7th with all seven tracks and the music video released at once. The title track is "So Good (쏘 굿)"; the album also includes "Domino (도미노)." Kihyun wanted to "gather good songs and hit the tastes of many people" with the project. This was his first solo return in roughly three years and nine months—a stretch that included mandatory military service. He served with the Army 25th Infantry Division from August 22, 2023 to February 21, 2025, completing his service as a sergeant (병장).

Kihyun is the main vocalist of MONSTA X, a six-member group that debuted in 2015. The lineup: Shownu, Minhyuk, Hyungwon, Jooheon, I.M, and Kihyun. His solo work includes the single VOYAGER, the first mini-album YOUTH, and an appearance on MBC's Mystery Music Show King of Mask Singer.

MONSTA X is running their 2026 world tour, THE X : NEXUS. ROAD FC 079 takes place at Jangchung Gymnasium on November 1.
