Nana joins Netflix's 'Scandal' ahead of September 18 premiere

Nana, known from After School, is joining the Netflix series Scandal, dropping September 18. She plays Hee-yeon, a woman bound by strict chastity after losing her husband—one of the central figures caught up in the show's central love bet.

Scandal unfolds in the Joseon era. Jo Ssi-bu-in is a woman of exceptional talent trapped by the constraints of her gender. Jo Won is Joseon's most notorious romantic. The two enter a bold and dangerous love wager. Hee-yeon gets entangled in that bet.

Nana posted several photos to social media on August 29. She listed her stats: 171 cm, 48 kg.

The photos revived conversation about her tattoo history. At the 2022 production press conference for Confession, she appeared covered in full-body tattoos running from her collarbone to the tops of her feet. She's spoken about the decision before—got them to push through a difficult period, doesn't regret it, but later recognized it as foolish. The honesty there is rare.

Responding to her mother's wish that she remove them, Nana spent considerable time having the tattoos taken off. She kept only one: a "1968" tattoo that holds personal meaning for her.
