T.O.P Apologizes to 20-Year Fan Site After Closure, Then Visits Birthday Café With Nana
T.O.P apologized publicly on Nov. 1 to Choi Seung-hyun dot com—three weeks after the 20-year fan site shut down, citing his agency's failure to take responsibility.

A 20-year fan site closes, then gets an apology
T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun) posted a lengthy apology on his SNS on November 1, addressing the operators and fans of Choi Seung-hyun dot com. The site had supported him since August 2006 and announced its closure on October 9.
The operators didn't mince words: "We determined that we could no longer overlook Taeyang and the agency's avoidance of reality and responsibility, and their attitude of taking fans' dedication for granted." This came roughly three weeks after T.O.P and actress Nana went public with their relationship on October 2. (The timing was not lost on anyone.) The site had also planned a fan exhibition that was cancelled due to low participation.
TopSpot Pictures issued an official apology on October 10, the day after the closure announcement. T.O.P's own statement came more than three weeks later.
What he said — and what he didn't explain
"I want to convey my true feelings to the operators of Choi Seung-hyun dot com who have supported me for such a long time of 20 years," T.O.P wrote.
On the delay: "I thought I had to be careful with even a single word from me in various situations, so it took time to convey my heart."
He also wrote: "I sincerely apologize to the operators of Choi Seung-hyun dot com and fans who received misunderstandings and were hurt because of me."
The apology didn't land cleanly. The day after posting it—November 2—T.O.P visited a birthday café that fans had organized for him. Nana came with him. The public outing, less than 24 hours after the apology, drew a cold reception.
The relationship at the center of it
T.O.P and Nana met during the music video shoot for 완전 미쳤어! (Completely Crazy!), the title track of his solo regular album. They became a couple in June. The public dating announcement followed on October 2—the same date that set off the chain of events leading to the fan site's closure.
