Park Sung-on celebrates 16th birthday on Han River yacht, reflects on trot career milestones
The 15-year-old trot singer celebrated his upcoming 16th birthday with a Han River yacht party on Aug. 29, posting photos and a message of love to his fanbase 감성온누리.
Park Sung-on marked his upcoming 16th birthday — he turns 16 on September 11 — with a Han River yacht party. On August 29, he posted photos alongside the message "Happy day, I love you 감성온누리" to his fanbase, whose official color is ivory.
The trot singer was born September 11, 2010. His résumé started in 2020 with a gold award at the 12th Korea Youth Trot Song Festival. He then entered TV Chosun's Mr. Trot 2 - The Beginning of a New Legend, finishing 7th in the final and becoming the youngest male finalist in the show's audition history.
From 2023 through 2024 he joined the Mr. Trot 2 national tour concert series and the Mr. Trot 2 TOP7 Concert, performing across Seoul and regional cities. TV followed: KBS1's Achim Madang, variety programs Tralala Brothers and Mr. Lotto, a 1-on-1 battle against rapper Yang Dong-geun on Voice King, and a spot as an impersonation specialist on the Song Ga-in episode of Hidden Singer 7.
Earlier in 2026, he won the "Next Trot Star" category at the inaugural iMBC Trot Awards. "I am truly grateful to receive this honorable award," he said at the time.
His single Jikjiniiya ("Straight Ahead") blends rock sound with a semi-trot rhythm. His third single Wangjanim-ui Kkum ("Prince's Dream") leans into a fusion-style arrangement for an upbeat feel. Two distinct sonic directions from one teenager.
