A post alleging school misconduct by RESCENE member Won-i vanished within hours after her middle school homeroom teacher publicly disputed the claims.

A post titled Geoje City Exposé (I'm a middle school 11th-class alumnus) targeting RESCENE member Won-i went up on an online community on August 1. It was deleted before the day ended.
Won-i's middle school grades 2 and 3 homeroom teacher created a social media account to respond. "I ask that you stop groundless criticism based on posts without evidence," the teacher wrote. The account would be deleted "immediately once I believe the facts regarding controversies about Won-i's words and actions during school have been sufficiently clarified."
The teacher included specifics. Footage showed Won-i leading a school violence prevention campaign in front of the entire student body. There was an account of Won-i presenting a cake made with classmates as a personal gift to the teacher. Support messages and conversation records from other teachers who taught Won-i were also included.
The controversy hit while RESCENE was riding momentum. The group's remake single Pretty Girl topped multiple music charts and won first place on music broadcasts. (Their mini album debut came in August 2024 with title track LOVE ATTACK.)
