Son Tae-jin wins back-to-back No. 1 on 'The Trot Show' with 'Melody of Love' at 10,693 points

Son Tae-jin won SBS LIFE The Trot Show for the fifth week of August. His track Melody of Love scored 10,693 points across all voting categories in episode 161, which aired August 31.

The score broke down as follows: 3,193 points from music source and social media, 5,500 from broadcast and pre-voting, and 2,000 from real-time voting. This marks his second consecutive win — Melody of Love also topped episode 160, which aired August 10. The song originally came out in November of last year.

Seong-ri's Sad Rain finished second with 8,598 points. Park Seo-jin's Cheotnune Banhaebeorin Sarama took third at 5,595 points.

Accepting the award, Son Tae-jin said: "Last time I became MC and received my first 1st place award, so my feelings are fresh and I'm grateful." He turned to his fanbase, known as Sonsshine: "You always make me shine — I always love you."

Son Tae-jin held his 2026 solo concert THE MAESTRO in Suwon last month. He performs at Busan Concert Hall on September 13 for the Forte di Quattro 10th Anniversary Concert — Busan. KBS1 will broadcast Jo Su-mi Encore, a 40th debut anniversary concert featuring Son Tae-jin, on October 9.
