The Wind's Kim Hee-su, TREASURE's Jun-gyu, Yubin all halt activities amid health concerns

Three K-pop idols suspended activities within two months of each other, each citing health as the reason.

The Wind's Kim Hee-su was first. On May 6, Pang Star Entertainment announced he had been receiving continuous treatment at a medical institution for anxiety symptoms, and that medical staff determined he needed sufficient rest and recovery. The Wind — a six-member boy group that debuted in 2023, with Kim Hee-su serving as leader and oldest member — will continue as a five-member unit for the time being.

TREASURE's Jun-gyu followed on June 29. YG Entertainment said he had been pushing through difficult conditions for the team but ultimately decided to halt activities based on his own judgment and advice from those around him. He also missed the promotional video shoot for the B-side track Danger, which had been scheduled around that time. In a handwritten letter, Jun-gyu wrote: "Since my debut in 2020, I've been running forward without looking back, so I gradually missed the signals from my body and mind." He added that he had tried to appear fine as a professional but realized it was time to take care of himself.

Yubin's situation was the most acute. On June 27, she collapsed immediately after performing at the 2026 My K Festa held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi. Mode House announced her hiatus on June 30, stating she had visited a hospital due to sustained poor condition and received a medical recommendation for rest. The agency noted that Yubin had been trying to keep promises with fans and contribute to the team, but that continued activity could delay her recovery. All domestic and international schedules, including fan signing events, are suspended indefinitely.

(Three idols, three agencies, two months — the pattern is hard to ignore.)
