Urban Zakapa return with single album '7' after 9-month gap

Urban Zakapa released single album 7 on August 11, their first new music in nine months.

The last release was the mini-album STAY in November 2025. 7 carries two tracks: title track Blue Diamond and B-side Unboxing. Jo Hyun-ah wrote and composed both songs solo. She also handled arrangement, producing, sound design, synth programming, and digital editing.

Blue Diamond builds around breaking free from the world's standards and complex thoughts to travel freely. The rare blue diamond serves as a metaphor for one's own self. Unboxing starts differently: storing shared moments and memories in a box, then opening it together again after time passes.

Jo Hyun-ah called the record personally meaningful. "This album contains the entire process from creating songs during solo songwriting camp to completing the music step by step with company members," she said. She hopes listeners "walk at their own pace and discover their own 'Blue Diamond'" and hold precious moments with loved ones close.

(Both tracks fully credited to one member — this is a very Jo Hyun-ah record.)

Urban Zakapa plan to meet fans through music festivals and broadcast activities.
