Yerin holds first solo fan concert 'STAR BLOOM' five years into her solo career

Yerin held her first solo fan concert, STAR BLOOM, at Rolling Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul — five years after her solo debut.

The show arrived alongside mini album 4 REACH YOU. It includes 별 너머의 너에게 (Beyond the Star), 조각별 (Shooting Star), 폴라리스 (Polaris), and 오르빗 (Orbit).

On the album's star-heavy theme, Yerin said: "It's an existence you want to have but cannot, an existence you can only look at from afar." She now finds herself scanning the sky for stars. There's a particular satisfaction when she confirms she's looking at a star rather than a satellite.

One of the bigger revelations from making REACH YOU: her falsetto. During her time in GFriend, Yerin was always assigned the role of building atmosphere just before the chorus. She assumed she simply couldn't sing in falsetto. Recording this album changed that. "I had completely excluded falsetto from my life, but I newly discovered its value," she said. "I realized I can produce good songs with falsetto too."

She also named the album's own tracks as a source of strength during a difficult production period. She hopes listeners can use the songs to start their days more refreshingly.

Looking ahead, Yerin wants to write lyrics around the theme of fireworks — drawn to the specific feeling of watching something shine and then disappear, and the quiet emptiness that follows. (The image of something beautiful and brief seems to be running through this whole era for her.)

The STAR BLOOM concert ran on MR backing, but Yerin said her goal is to perform with a live band, layering instruments over her voice.
