82MAJOR drops second single 'HEAT' and MV for 'Like Fire', performs live at Gwanghwamun

82MAJOR — Namseongmo, Park Seokjun, Yun Yechan, Cho Sungil, Hwang Sungbin, and Kim Dogyun — dropped HEAT on September 1, four months after their last release. The four-track project came with a music video for title track Like Fire, published the same day on YouTube.

Like Fire pairs intense beats and synthesizer sounds with a hip-hop dance groove. The lyrics trace that moment when attraction spirals into something uncontrollable. It picks up where their earlier release Sign left off. Yun Yechan co-wrote it. Lee Suho of Balming Tiger directed the video—he also helmed the Sign MV and has worked on tracks for BTS's j-hope and IU. The song hits lines like "어서 일어나 느껴져 now, we on fire" and "더 뜨겁게 we burn."

The other new track, 오늘 어때 (wyd?), is a pastel bounce hip-hop song about confessing feelings to someone you like. Namseongmo, Park Seokjun, and Yun Yechan wrote and composed it; Yun Yechan also arranged. The single rounds out with TROPHY (Spanish Ver.), layering in Spanish rhythmic elements, and Sign (Viann Remix), a rework by producer VIANN that expands on the original's sensibility.

Great M Entertainment called HEAT "a single themed on gradually escalating energy and the heat of an explosive moment," capturing "diverse sounds where intensity and ease, tension and freedom intersect."

Park Seokjun said the group "grew more in music and performance" while preparing. Cho Sungil, who sat out last cycle with a leg injury, said he "prepared even more by gritting his teeth." Hwang Sungbin, meanwhile, wants to become fans' "hitman" through HEAT.

On September 2 at 8 PM, 82MAJOR performed at Cheonggyecheon Square in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, broadcast via KPOPCON's YouTube channel. The group's message: "82MAJOR really is a performance-oriented idol group."
