Dalshabet's Seri marks 15-year debut anniversary with solo city pop track 'Night Drive'

15 years in, a city pop solo about letting go

Seri released her solo track Night Drive (나이트 드라이브) on September 9, timed to her 15th debut anniversary. She debuted with Dalshabet in 2011. The group's activities stopped after 2017.

City pop built on emotional melody. That's the foundation here. Seri describes the vocal tone as refreshing, and lyrically the song sits in that space between endings—sorting through complicated feelings, moving forward after leaving behind past relationships and people who have grown distant. Her goal was simple: "naturally convey the message through vocals that focused on the emotion of the song rather than technique."

Former Dalshabet member Woo-hee contributed backing vocals. Square One's Seo Ki-jun, Kim Bi, Gi-ryeon, and Lee Hyun-jun handled composition and arrangement. Lee Hyun-jun played guitar, Kim Bi on piano, Gi-ryeon on bass. Songwriting credits go to 402, Yoo Yeon, and Ryu Ji-yoon.

Where this fits in her solo run

Last year she released a duet called Lili (리리) with actress Choi Yeon-cheong (real name Choi Gyu-ri). Before going solo, she was Dalshabet's main dancer and taught choreography to the other members.

Seri framed the anniversary forward, not backward: "Rather than staying in past titles, I think it's more important what kind of music I want to make now and what kind of artist I want to remain."

"Just as I've been singing for 15 years, I want to be remembered through music for the time to come."

She's also active across fashion events, advertising, modeling, and live commerce. (Fifteen years is a long time to still be figuring out what you want — respect.) She hopes fans will support those sides of her work too.

On the anniversary itself: "To some, I might be remembered as Seri from Dalshabet, and to others as solo artist Seri who is currently active. But to me, all that time was ultimately one long music journey."
