FTISLAND's Lee Hong-gi Balances Musical Run, Drama Cameo, and Fan Meetings in Packed Schedule
The 35-year-old FTISLAND leader wrapped a two-month musical run, made a drama cameo, and held two fan meetings — one a first, one a decade in the making.
From child actor to band leader to musical lead
Lee Hong-gi, 35, has been running one of the busier schedules in his career as FTISLAND leader and main vocalist. His entertainment career started before the band's 2007 debut with Cheerful Sensibility — he appeared in the KBS 2TV drama TV는 사랑을 싣고 in 2001 as a child actor.
The three-member group scored back-to-back chart wins in 2015 when "눈치없이" took first place on both 더 쇼 and 뮤직뱅크.
Musical, drama, and fan meetings in quick succession
Hong-gi played Joe in the musical Sugar (슈가) at Hanwha Art Center from December 12, 2025 through February 22, 2026 — a run stretching more than two months. He also made a special appearance in the 2025 SBS drama 사계의 봄, taking on the role of a lawyer.
On the fan engagement side, he held his first-ever solo domestic fan meeting, titled 옹기종기. FTISLAND held their own fan meeting, 우당탕탕 FT 사무소, their first in approximately 10 years.
In between, Hong-gi posted a brief caption on social media: "My master Won Dragon."
Harbor walk photos that surfaced online suggest he did find at least a moment to breathe.
