Haha opens up about marriage to Byul and his "wandering" past on YouTube reunion with Bae Jung-nam
Haha keeps hearing the same thing: people never thought he'd stay married and happy this long. He admits he wandered plenty before settling down.
"I wandered a lot and liked to play"
Haha doesn't shy away from his past. On September 9, he uploaded a video to his YouTube channel HahaPD where he sat down with Bae Jung-nam, Park Young-jin, Yang Sang-guk, and Kim Won-hyo for a full-crew reunion trip to Busan Yeongdo. The conversation got real fast.
Married to singer Byul since 2012, with two sons and a daughter, Haha keeps hearing one refrain:
"The story that resonates most with me is 'I didn't know this hyung would get married, not divorce, and be happy for this long.' I wandered a lot and liked to play."
Bae Jung-nam jumped in with his own confession. He met Haha first when moving to Seoul, back when Haha was riding Nonstop. Straight-faced, he said he had no clue Haha would still be working this many years later.
Loyalty tested at 11 PM, third stop of the night
The two swapped stories about their friendship. Haha remembered sitting at a roasted chicken restaurant in Hannam-dong late one night, suddenly desperate to see Bae Jung-nam. It was around 11 PM. Already his third stop that evening. He called. "Where are you?" "Home." "Come out, I want to see you." Bae came right out.
"He's a younger brother who is tightly bound by loyalty," Haha said.
The fashion talk turned self-deprecating too. Back in the day, people tried copying Bae Jung-nam's style and ripped their trousers doing it. Haha named himself and singer Kim Beom-soo as prime examples. "Our body frames are different."
