One year after 'Bye Summer,' IU is back
IU's new digital single 이 별로부터 drops September 10 at 6 PM—exactly one year after 바이, 썸머 arrived on the same date in 2025. The music video follows September 16 at midnight. EDAM Entertainment released the MV teaser on September 9, a day after concept photos hit IU's official SNS at midnight on September 8.
The concept photos show IU sporting a new short bob. A shift from the longer hair she's kept through recent promotions.
On social media, IU posted with the teaser: "내가 의도한 커버는 이게 아닌데" ("My intended cover is not this"), then added "Feels like she's gathered whole universe." The teaser also previews the track's opening lyric: 사랑이 시작된 순간을 기억하나요 — "Do you remember the moment love began?"
Chilean actor Jorge López Astorga joins the MV
The 이 별로부터 music video pairs IU with Chilean actor Jorge López Astorga. He's known internationally from Disney's Soy Luna and Netflix's Élite.
The single arrives after IU postponed her September concert and her sixth full-length album, citing a worsening of her chronic Eustachian tube dysfunction (이관개방증). IU and actor Lee Jong-suk, who began publicly dating in 2022, announced their breakup in July after four years together.
