The Boyz member Q (Ji Chang-min) signed with Pitch Company, founded by actress Jeon Ji-hyun, as he pivots to acting with a 2027 horror film on deck.
Q goes full actor mode with a new agency
Ji Chang-min — known as Q of The Boyz — has signed an exclusive contract with Pitch Company, the management firm founded by actress Jeon Ji-hyun. He joins a roster that currently includes Jeon Ji-hyun and Kim So-hyun.
Pitch Company said on the 4th: "We will be a reliable partner and provide full support so that Ji Chang-min can fully display his potential."
Q debuted with The Boyz in 2017. The group has released "REVEAL," "The Stealer," "THRILL RIDE," and "Bloom Bloom." His acting work started building momentum this year. He took his first lead role in the MBC Plus drama 최애 데뷔 (My Favorite Debut), playing Han Jae-ha. Before that came his screen debut in Apartment: Ripley's World as idol trainee Ji Chan-sung.
A horror film and a 2027 target
Q has confirmed a role in the horror film Akgu: The Secret of the Moon Shadow (tentative title). Shooting begins this month, with a 2027 release targeted. The film follows six 27-year-old friends with different backgrounds who go camping to investigate rumors about a pond deep in the forest, only to get caught up in strange phenomena. Q plays Taeup (태엽), described as the most rational and reasonable of the six — the character set to anchor the story.
(The timing is notable: The Boyz have been in an ongoing legal dispute with their former agency One Hundred. Nine members, excluding New, filed for a provisional disposition to suspend their exclusive contract with One Hundred in February; the court approved it in April. That same month, the nine members filed a criminal complaint against One Hundred CEO Cha Ga-won on embezzlement charges. One Hundred has stated the allegations are groundless.)
With the Pitch Company contract signed and a film already in pre-production, Q's transition from idol to working actor is no longer a side project.
