A2O LITE's debut track 'NEON' hits Melon No. 1 in 29 hours — fastest since chart overhaul
A2O LITE debuted Oct. 13 under Lee Soo-man's A2O Entertainment and hit No. 1 on Melon Top 100 the next afternoon—the fastest climb since the chart's overhaul.

29 hours to No. 1
A2O LITE's debut single NEON reached No. 1 on Melon Top 100 on the afternoon of Oct. 14. That's 29 hours after release—the fastest any track has climbed to the top since the chart was reorganized. As of Oct. 18, it hasn't budged.
The 9-member girl group debuted Oct. 13, one day after a global debut show on Oct. 12. They launched alongside 15-member boy group A2O SOUL under A2O Entertainment, both acts arriving at once instead of rolling out one team first. (The name A2O itself means "circulation.") The move broke the standard playbook of sequential debuts.
Chart spread across three platforms
NEON also hit No. 1 on Melon Hot 100 and Bugs. It topped charts in 8 countries and regions, including the Korean Apple Music chart and iTunes overall in Italy and Malaysia. The track entered iTunes charts in 11 countries and regions and Apple Music charts in 30. On Spotify Korea's daily chart, it ranked 14th.
Heavy bass runs throughout the song. The hook "Neon and Beyond" repeats across the chorus. Members Aichin (아이찡) and Siri (시리) open with a two-person pair choreography.
Lee Soo-man's return
A2O Entertainment is Lee Soo-man's domestic comeback project. He founded SM Entertainment in 1995 and produced H.O.T., S.E.S., TVXQ, Girls' Generation, EXO, and NCT there. He sold his SM shares to HYBE in 2023, triggering a three-year non-compete agreement. A2O launched once that period ended.
Producer Yu Young-jin, who worked alongside Lee Soo-man during SM's peak years, participated in the overall production of A2O.
Lee Soo-man said in a prior interview: "I think what A2O creates is modifying and reconstructing what already exists."
