AOA's Jimin hospitalized 6 months after fall, shares neck, back and pelvis pain
Six months after an April fall left a laceration on her left thigh, former AOA member Shin Jimin posted hospital photos on Oct. 14 showing ongoing effects.

Hospital visit, six months on
Jimin (신지민), former AOA member, posted multiple hospital photos to her personal account on October 14. The visit came roughly six months after a fall accident in April that left a laceration injury on her left thigh. In the photos she wore a patient gown and sat on a hospital bed with a visibly gaunt face. Medical records she shared showed discomfort in her neck, lower back, and pelvis.
Medical staff noted of the thigh wound: "If there is no pain, we will observe for a while. There is a high possibility it will fill in over time."
The months leading up to this
The hospital visit caps a difficult stretch. Back in June, Jimin posted a lengthy message describing a month of extreme stress. "For a whole month, I, who normally cannot drink alcohol, had to drink alcohol every day to fall asleep," she wrote. "It was not resolved by medication."
She was in the middle of solo album production at the time, handling it largely on her own. The process strained relationships with people around her. After finishing the music video, she cried intensely for approximately 20 minutes. Her lips became chapped, and she bit both hands so severely that washing her hair was difficult.
Where she is now
Jimin debuted with AOA in 2012 and left the group in 2020 following a bullying controversy. She resumed public activities in 2022 through JTBC's 두 번째 세계 (Second World) and has continued as a solo artist since. She recently released a new album and has been communicating with fans. (The album production ordeal she described in June appears to be the same project.)
