Jimin tops King Choice's "King of Kpop 2026" for 8th straight year as BTS ARIRANG Asia tour kicks off
Jimin claimed the top spot on King Choice's King of Kpop 2026 poll for the 8th year running. BTS's ARIRANG Asia leg starts in Kaohsiung on the 19th.
8 years at the top
Jimin won King Choice's "The King of Kpop 2026" poll on the global online voting platform. Eight consecutive years at number one since 2019. The timing lines up with his current schedule: BTS's ARIRANG world tour is running in stadium and arena format, with the Asia leg opening in Kaohsiung on the 19th.
The streak rests on documented chart records. His 2023 solo EP FACE — where he wrote and composed every track — produced "Like Crazy," which hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 immediately after release. He became the first Korean solo artist to achieve that. "Set Me Free Pt.2," also from 2023, layered heavy beats with rap and vocal work.
From FACE to MUSE
His 2024 mini-album MUSE went further. Title track "Who" charted on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart for tens of weeks. The album itself peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200. Jimin wrote and composed the songs on MUSE as well.
His OST credits span three major productions: "With You" for the drama Our Blues, "Angel Pt. 1" for Fast & Furious: Ride or Die, and "친구" (Chingu) for Marvel's Eternals.
(BTS debuted with single album 2 COOL 4 SKOOL in 2013. Jimin, now 31, is the group's main dancer and lead vocalist.)
