Ben teases short hair reveal, recapping a career built on real-time chart No. 1s
Ben posted a restaurant selfie on October 6 hinting at a dramatic new look. "I will reveal my short hair tomorrow," she told followers.
"짧머" incoming
Ben (real name Lee Eun-young) posted a restaurant photo in a pink T-shirt and told followers: "I will reveal my short hair tomorrow." One line. That's all it took.
Her career started in 2010 with the BeBe Mignon digital single. Solo work picked up from 2012 onward. The discography spans EPs like 147.5 and My Name Is BEN, Soulmate, Off The Record, and her first full-length RECIPE. Her signature tracks include 180°, 헤어져줘서 고마워, and 열애중. Both 180° and 헤어져줘서 고마워 hit real-time chart No. 1 immediately after release.
The competition record
On KBS2's 불후의 명곡, Ben went 26 wins and 24 losses across 48 total appearances—a 53% win rate and three championship titles. She was the first female vocalist to achieve an all-kill on the show. Her Part 1 crown came from a performance of Sunflower's 사랑으로. On tvN's Perfect Singer VS, her rendition of Lee Sun-hee's 인연 earned the highest score in the program's history. She also finished runner-up on Mnet's Trot X in 2014.
2024–2025 activity
Ben kept a steady broadcast presence through both years. In 2024 she appeared on Begin Again Open Mic, The Seasons - Zico's Artist, Picnic Live Outing, Today Our School, Now I'm Alone, and Ji Ye-eun's Issue Club Season 2. In 2025 she released the digital single 풀 꽃 and showed up on the Gag Concert segment I Know This Song, plus YouTube projects Growing Up Conversation and Looking for Part-time Job.
(The short hair reveal will mark the first major image change she's publicly flagged in this stretch.)
