CHASER's Ren under fire for snapping at fan 8 months into debut; agency CEO apologizes
Ren of five-member boy group CHASER told a fan "you keep annoying me" after she said she'd been waiting for him. Howling Entertainment's CEO posted a public apology the same day.

"You keep annoying me"
Ren, a member of five-member boy group CHASER (체이서), responded to a fan's affectionate message with open hostility eight months after the group's February debut.
The fan had sent Ren a message reading "I've been waiting for you." Ren replied: "What do you want me to do, why are you saying something to me, you keep annoying me." He emphasized he had logged on immediately after finishing work.
The exchange spread quickly. Critics called it an "attitude controversy" (인성 논란) directed at a fan who had expressed support.
Howling Entertainment CEO posts apology
On October 12, Howling Entertainment CEO Ko Yun-young addressed the incident on her personal SNS. "I sincerely apologize to fans who were hurt and disappointed by Ren's words and actions this time," she wrote.
Ko also acknowledged the company's own role: "We also believe there were insufficient parts in the company's management and guidance regarding this incident." The agency takes seriously the principle that artists' communication with fans carries real responsibility. She promised closer oversight and education to prevent a repeat.
CHASER debuted in February 2026 with their first mini album ROUTE 01: BURNING POINT.
