DAY6's WONPIL drops surprise cover of '좋아해..' ahead of fan meeting
WONPIL posted a cover of George's 2021 webtoon collab track on DAY6's official YouTube on Oct. 22 — two months after teasing it on Bubble.
WONPIL followed through on a two-month-old promise
DAY6's WONPIL dropped a cover of 좋아해.. (바른연애 길잡이 X 죠지 cover) on October 22 via DAY6's official YouTube channel. The original is a single by singer 죠지 (George), released February 18, 2021 as part of a collaboration with Naver webtoon 바른연애 길잡이.
Back on August 21, WONPIL posted on Bubble: "같이 듣고 싶은 노래 있었어" — "There was a song I wanted to listen to together with you." He kept going: "I've been liking this song lately. If I get the chance, I want to sing it properly." October 22 was that chance.
A year that already had a lot going on
The cover lands at the tail end of a packed stretch for WONPIL. His second solo mini album Unpiltered, with title track 사랑병동, came out March 30. It hit number one on music charts, sent every track into Melon's TOP 100, and set a career-high in album sales. A three-day sold-out solo concert run at Seoul Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium followed (May 1–3). He headlined 뷰티풀 민트 라이프 2026 on May 31, his first solo festival headline slot.
On the DAY6 side, the group wrapped a 27-show world tour across 16 regions with The DECADE FINALE in SEOUL at KSPO DOME in Seoul's Songpa-gu in July. WONPIL also headlined XMF 2026 on October 4.
(WONPIL made his acting debut in the 2021 musical 태양의 노래 and appeared in the 2022 web drama 일진에게 반했을 때, so webtoon-adjacent material isn't entirely new territory for him.)
What's next: fan meeting starts tomorrow
DAY6 holds their official fan meeting EVERY DAY6, EVERY My Day at Incheon Inspire Arena from October 23 to 25. Three days, starting the day after the cover dropped. The timing of the surprise upload, right before MyDay gather in Incheon, was not subtle.
